Marisa DeMis holds two Baccalaureate Degrees, one in Nursing from University of Texas at San Antonio Health Science Center and the other in Psychology from Texas A&M.   Marisa has worked as a nurse with adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit and with pediatric patients in the Hematology, Oncology, and Transplant Unit. Currently, she volunteers her spare time to congenital heart defect advocacy.  Marisa became involved with The Children's Heart Foundation after her child was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.  Marisa is passionate about educating patients and their families as a means to mend healthcare disparities.
