The Tampa Congenital Heart Walk is part of the nation’s premiere walk series dedicated to raising funds for congenital heart defect research.
TAMPA, FL, July 29, 2024 – The Children’s Heart Foundation is honored to have St. Joseph's Children's Hospital as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2024 Tampa Congenital Heart Walk.
The Congenital Heart Walk is the nation’s largest walk series dedicated to raising money to fund congenital heart defect research. Congenital heart defects, or CHDs, are America’s most common and deadly birth defect. Nearly 40,000 babies are born with a CHD each year in the U.S.; this equates to 1 child every 15 minutes.
St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is well known throughout the southeast United States as a leader in pediatric heart and cancer care. With 80 pediatric physician specialists representing 25 medical and surgical disciplines, the staff offers the care St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is known for. Parents have the confidence of knowing that the specialized pediatric services offered are further strengthened by St. Joseph's Hospital full-service medical center, including the 24-hour Steinbrenner Emergency/Trauma Center for Children.
The Tampa Congenital Heart Walk Presented by St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital will unite supporters to raise funds for research to improve survival, longevity, and quality of life for all CHD patients. Join us as at Gadsden Park on October 19, 2024 for fun activities, entertainment, research updates, and our family-friendly walk! Together, we can bring hope, inspiration, and unity to the forefront of our mission. Visit events.chfwalk.org/event/tampa to register as a walker, start a team, sign up to be a volunteer, or make a donation.
Since 1996, The Children’s Heart Foundation has funded nearly $18 million of CHD research and scientific collaborations, helping lead to improved diagnostics, earlier interventions, groundbreaking procedures, and life-saving treatments for individuals living with CHDs. The money raised by the Congenital Heart Walk series is helping to fund the groundbreaking research of tomorrow.
