The Detroit Congenital Heart Walk is part of the nation’s premiere walk series dedicated to raising funds for congenital heart defect research.
ROCHESTER, MI, March 5, 2024 – The Children’s Heart Foundation is honored to have Rick Young Insurance and Grateful Giving Foundation as the Presenting Sponsor of the Detroit Congenital Heart Walk for the second year in a row.
The Congenital Heart Walk is the nation’s largest walk series solely dedicated to raising money to fund congenital heart defect research. Congenital heart defects, or CHDs, are America’s most common and deadly birth defect. Nearly 40,000 babies are born with a CHD each year in the U.S.; this equates to 1 child every 15 minutes.
As longtime members of the community, the team at Rick Young Insurance and Grateful Giving Foundation believes in their ability to help those in need, and proudly supports various causes and charities in the area. The Children’s Heart Foundation is thrilled that they are choosing to help fund the most promising congenital heart defect research by supporting the Detroit Congenital Heart Walk.
The Detroit Congenital Heart Walk will unite supporters to raise funds for research to improve survival, longevity, and quality of life for all CHD patients. Join us as at Rochester Municipal Park in Rochester, MI on Saturday, August 17, 2024 for a day of fun activities, entertainment, research updates, and our family-friendly one mile walk! Together, we can bring hope, inspiration, and unity to the forefront of our mission. Visit events.chfwalk.org/event/detroitwalk to register as a fundraising walker, team captain, volunteer, or make a donation.
Since 1996, The Children’s Heart Foundation has funded nearly $18 million of CHD research and scientific collaborations, helping lead to improved diagnostics, earlier interventions, groundbreaking procedures, and life-saving treatments for individuals living with CHDs. The money raised by the Congenital Heart Walk series is helping to fund the groundbreaking research of tomorrow.
