Bernhard Kühn, MD

Bernhard Kühn, MD, is certified in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and co-Director of the Children’s Heart Center at New York Presbyterian. He received his medical degree from Freie Universitȁt Berlin and completed a residency in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by a clinical fellowship in pediatric cardiology and post-doctoral research fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kühn previously served on the faculty at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School and at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical School.

Dr. Kühn’s research interest is to understand and control heart muscle cell (cardiomyocyte) proliferation to direct myocardial growth and regeneration. The clinical goal of his research is to translate these research advances into new therapies for healing the hearts of children and adults. Dr. Kühn has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), the American Pediatric Society (APS), and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC).
